ADB Donates To Otunfuo Teachers Fund
Apr 11 2013The Agricultural Development Bank (ADB) has donated an amount of Five Thousand Ghana Cedis (GHS 5,000) to support this year’s Otumfuo Teachers Award. The donation by ADB, the leading agriculture financing institution in the country, forms part of its diverse corporate social responsibility and support to communities which are the focal point of the bank’s business.
At a presentation ceremony at the Manhyia Palace, Kumasi on Wednesday 10th April, 2013, Mr. Lord Koramoa, Marketing Manager of ADB, revealed that the Bank was very pleased to support such an innovative programme because ADB believes that the initiative will go a long way in appreciating teachers and also boost the morale of teachers, especially teachers in schools within Asanteman.
“We believe that by committing some token to worthy causes such as the Otumfuo Teachers Award, we help build a 'feel good' atmosphere and strong relationships among members of the communities in which we operate. Our workforce also feels proud knowing that ADB is helping contribute to community empowerment and growth”, Mr. Korama said.
Mr. Koramoa added that the education sector is one of the key focus of the Bank’s corporate social responsibility agenda and was proud to contribute its quota to help encourage teachers in the Asanteman community to give off their best.
Dr. Thomas Agyarko-Poku the Executive Director of the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Charity Foundation thanked ADB for its kind gesture and also encouraged other institutions operating in Asanteman to support the Awards scheme.
